Cultural Heritage Science Open Source’s multispectral imaging and analysis

Conservation scientist Antonino Cosentino PhD, CHSOS, Aci Sant’Antonio, Sicily, Italy

*See below for updated locations*

Dr Cosentino will discuss  results and applications from  the first ever crowdfunded heritage conservation science research project, which has enabled CHSOS to provide design and components specifications for an accessible and relatively inexpensive multispectral imaging and analysis system for microscopical and other applications.

The CHSOS MSI system comprises a full spectrum (400-920 nm) digital camera, 18 bandpass filters,  open source software, and a 54 swatch historical pigments standards card designed for infrared photography, ultraviolet photography and other technical photography.

LOCATIONS UPDATE:

An afternoon workshop on sourcing, assembly and operation of the CHSOS MSI system will be conducted at the Neighborhood Preservation Center, in NYC.  Space is  limited, so please contact nyconsnfdn@aol.com for information.

The 7 PM presentation will be in a lecture hall near the NPC–see announcement soon, on this page.
