Kirk J. Czymmek, Ph.D.
Director of North American Applications and Labs
Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC

With over 20 years of advanced microscopy experience, Dr. Kirk Czymmek is expert in  most forms of optical and electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, single molecule imaging, super-resolution microscopy and cryo-techniques, and often  combines these technologies to view the same exact sample using correlative microscopy.

Dr. Czymmek’s work has focused on developing and applying cutting-edge microscopy tools for imaging cells, tissues and soft materials, and he has over 80 publications including 4 book chapters. Dr. Czymmek joined Zeiss in August 2012 to lead Carl Zeiss Microscopy’s North American Microscopy Labs including facilities in Pleasanton, CA, Peabody, MA and Thornwood NY.  Czymmek received his doctorate in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology at Michigan State University in 1993. At the University of Delaware (UD), 15 active years  included  creation of UD’s Bio-Imaging Center (http://bioimaging.dbi.udel.edu) at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute.  Dr Czymmek served as Bio-Imaging Center Director, and as Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences.

Tell  security guard you are attending the NYSEM-NYMS meeting; there will be a flyer at the desk.
To E-115:  walk to the back of the lobby, turn right,  follow the corridor all the way to its end, and go through double doors into the Dept. of Biochemistry.  E-115 is straight ahead at the end of the hall.
